Aliceville Lake, southeast Alabama

Aliceville Lake is created by Tom Bevill Lock and Dam on the Tombigbee River in Pickens County, Alabama and is used for improved navigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1978. Its normal surface area is 13 square miles. The site is also known as Aliceville Lake. It is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers.

 

Tom Bevill Lock And Dam, also known as Aliceville Lake is of earthen construction, a gravity dam. Its length is 1300 feet. Maximum discharge is 290000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 60400 acre feet. Normal storage is 60400 acre feet. It drains an area of 5750 square miles.
