Anson South Lake, central Texas

City Lake is created by Anson South Lake on a tributary of Carter Creek in Jones County, Texas and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1920. It is owned by the City Of Anson.

 

Anson South Lake Dam, also known as City Lake Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is unlisted or unknown. Its height is 25 feet with a length of 2000 feet. Maximum discharge is 4440 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 1005 acre feet. Normal storage is 560 acre feet.
