Apple River, Wisconsin
Apple River Dam is on the Apple River in St. Croix County, Wisconsin and is used for hydroelectric power and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1954. Its normal surface area is 52 acres. It is owned by Northern States Power Co.
Apple River is masonry, concrete. The core is upstream facing, concrete. The foundation is rock. Though originally completed in 1954, the structure was modified in 1953. Its height is 47 feet Maximum discharge is 9000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 668 acre feet. Normal storage is 668 acre feet. It drains an area of 555 square miles.
