Atwood Lake, northeast OhioAtwood Lake is the result of Atwood Dam on Indian Fork Of Conotton Creek in Tuscarawas County, Ohio and is used for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. It has been been there since 1936. It has a normal surface area of 2.4 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Atwood Dam, also known as Atwood Lake is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Though originally completed in 1936, the structure was modified in 1997. Its length is 3700 feet. Maximum discharge is 12800 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 49700 acre feet. Normal storage is 23600 acre feet. It drains an area of 70 square miles.
