Bear Canyon Lake, central Arizona

Bear Canyon Lake is created by Bear Canyon Dam on Bear Creek in Coconino County, Arizona and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1929. It has a normal surface area of 65 acres. It is owned by Arizona Game and Fish Department.

 

Bear Canyon, also known as Bear Canyon Lake is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Its height is 57 feet with a length of 345 feet. Maximum discharge is 445 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 1638 acre feet. Normal storage is 1430 acre feet. It drains an area of 2 square miles.
