Beatties Mill Dam, northcentral New JerseyLittle Falls is impounded by Beatties Mill Dam on the Passaic River in Passaic County, New Jersey and is used for hydroelectric power and drinking water purposes. It has been been there since 1932. At normal levels it has a surface area of 100 acres. It is owned by Passaic Valley Water Commission. Beatties Mill Dam, also known as Little Falls is masonry, concrete, a gravity dam. The core is upstream facing, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 12 feet with a length of 287 feet. Maximum discharge is 31700 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 1350 acre feet. Normal storage is 300 acre feet. It drains an area of 762 square miles.
