Black Canyon Diversion, Idaho
Black Canyon Diversion Dam is on the Payette River in Gem County, Idaho and is used for irrigation and hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1923. At normal levels it has a surface area of 1.7 square miles. It is owned by Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation.
Black Canyon Diversion, also known as Black Canyon is concrete, a gravity dam. Its height is 183 feet with a length of 1902 feet. Maximum discharge is 39060 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 29822 acre feet. Normal storage is 29822 acre feet. It drains an area of 2680 square miles.
