Construction was completed in 1968. It is owned by the State Of Connecticut. Blackberry Site 15, also known as Whiting River Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Though originally completed in 1968, the structure was modified in 1994. Its height is 77 feet with a length of 580 feet. Maximum discharge is 13335 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 4556 acre feet. Normal storage is 30 acre feet. It drains an area of 9.66 square miles.
