Bookout Lake, southcentral Texas

Bookout Lake is on the Nueces River in Dimmit County, Texas and is used for irrigation purposes. It was built in 1946. It is owned by Zavala Dimmit Counties Watershed Improvement District No1.

 

Bookout Lake Dam is of earthen construction. Its height is 19 feet with a length of 325 feet. Its capacity is 1032 acre feet. Normal storage is 344 acre feet.
