Brady Dam, central Texas

Brady Dam is on Brady Creek in Mcculloch County, Texas and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1963. It has a normal surface area of 3.2 square miles. It is owned by the City Of Brady.

 

Brady Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Though originally completed in 1963, the structure was modified in 1989. Its height is 104 feet with a length of 9400 feet. Maximum discharge is 368990 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 212400 acre feet. Normal storage is 30000 acre feet. It drains an area of 513 square miles.
