Construction was completed in 1963. It has a normal surface area of 78 acres. It is owned by Sacramento Mun Utility District. Buck Island is a gravity dam. Its height is 18 feet with a length of 290 feet. Normal storage is 1070 acre feet. It drains an area of 5.35 square miles.
