Buck Island, northcentral California
Buck Island Dam is on the Little Rubicon River in El Dorado County, California and is used for irrigation, improved navigation, among other things. Construction was completed in 1963. It has a normal surface area of 78 acres. It is owned by Sacramento Mun Utility District.
Buck Island is a gravity dam. Its height is 18 feet with a length of 290 feet. Normal storage is 1070 acre feet. It drains an area of 5.35 square miles.
