Burton Lake, northeast Ohio

Burton Lake is on a tributary to Bridge Creek in Geauga County, Ohio and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1952. At normal levels it has a surface area of 18.5 acres. It is owned by Geauga County Sanitary Engineer.

 

Burton Lake Dam is of earthen construction. Its height is 9.1 feet with a length of 575 feet. Maximum discharge is 661 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 447.9 acre feet. Normal storage is 36.1 acre feet. It drains an area of 5.7 square miles.
