Cardwell, northcentral Alabama

Cardwell Dam is on a tributary of Hopton Creek in Etowah County, Alabama and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1954. It is owned by Bill Cardwell.

 

Cardwell is of earthen construction. Its length is 440 feet. Maximum discharge is 61 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 66 acre feet. Normal storage is 60 acre feet.
