Clendening Lake, northeast OhioClendening Lake is formed by Clendening Dam on the Brushy Fork Of Stillwater Creek River in Harrison County, Ohio and is used for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. It has been been there since 1936. Its normal surface area is 2.8 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Clendening Dam, also known as Clendening Lake is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is soil. Though originally completed in 1936, the structure was modified in 1971. Its length is 950 feet. Maximum discharge is 13200 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 54000 acre feet. Normal storage is 26500 acre feet. It drains an area of 69 square miles.
