Conestoga Lake, southeast Nebraska
Conestoga Lake is created by Conestoga Dam-Salt Creek Site 12 Dam on Holmes Creek in Lancaster County, Nebraska and is used for flood control and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1964. It has a normal surface area of 230 acres. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Conestoga Dam-salt Creek Site 12, also known as Conestoga Lake is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is soil. Its length is 3000 feet. Maximum discharge is 25000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 15000 acre feet. Normal storage is 2700 acre feet. It drains an area of 15 square miles.
