David West, southeast Alabama

David West Dam is on a tributary of Cypress Creek in Houston County, Alabama and is used for irrigation and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1969. It is owned by David West.

 

David West is of earthen construction, a gravity dam. Its length is 415 feet. Maximum discharge is 663 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 68 acre feet. Normal storage is 42 acre feet.
