Dillon Lake, central OhioDillon Lake is created by Dillon Dam on the Licking River in Muskingum County, Ohio and is used for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. Construction was completed in 1960. At normal levels it has a surface area of 2.4 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Dillon Dam, also known as Dillon Lake is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is soil. Though originally completed in 1960, the structure was modified in 1996. Its length is 1400 feet. Maximum discharge is 89700 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 274000 acre feet. Normal storage is 17500 acre feet. It drains an area of 742 square miles.
