It has a normal surface area of 300 acres. It is owned by the City Of Newark, Division Of Sewers And Water Supply. Echo Lake Spillway Dam is of earthen construction, a gravity dam. Its height is 22 feet with a length of 260 feet. Maximum discharge is 3376 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 7686 acre feet. Normal storage is 4870 acre feet. It drains an area of 2.7 square miles.
