Emsworth Pool is impounded by Emsworth Locks and Dams Dam on the Ohio River in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and is used for improved navigation purposes. It has been been there since 1938. At normal levels it has a surface area of 4.5 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
