Ford Lake, southeast Michigan

Ford Lake is on the Huron River in Washtenaw County, Michigan and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. It has been been there since 1932. At normal levels it has a surface area of 1.5 square miles. It is owned by Charter Township Of Ypsilanti.

 

Ford Lake is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is soil. Its height is 45 feet with a length of 670 feet. Maximum discharge is 22600 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 18000 acre feet. Normal storage is 17770 acre feet. It drains an area of 814 square miles.
