Fox Creek Flood Retarding Structure 3, northeast Kentucky

Big Run is formed by Fox Creek Flood Retarding Structure #3 on Fox Creek in Fleming County, Kentucky and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1973. It has a normal surface area of 46.2 acres. It is owned by Fox Creek Conserv. District.

 

Fox Creek Frs #3, also known as Big Run is of earthen construction. The foundation is assumed to be rock, soil. Its height is 31 feet with a length of 870 feet. Its capacity is 1083.2 acre feet. Normal storage is 209 acre feet. It drains an area of 5.8 square miles.
