Galveston County Water Reservoir, east Texas

Galveston County Water Reservoir is using off-channel water from the Dickinson Bayou in Galveston County, Texas and is used for recreation purposes. It was built in 1949. At normal levels it has a surface area of 1.3 square miles. It is owned by Galveston County Water Authority.

 

Galveston County Water Reservoir Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is unlisted or unknown. Its height is 14 feet with a length of 25281 feet. Maximum discharge is 1077 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 11368 acre feet. Normal storage is 7308 acre feet. It drains an area of 1.27 square miles.
