Georgetown Impoundment (upper), Kentucky

Georgetown Impoundment (Upper) Dam is on Elkhorn Creek in Scott County, Kentucky and is used for drinking water purposes. Construction was completed in 1974. At normal levels it has a surface area of 19.7 acres. It is owned by the City Of Georgetown.

 

Georgetown Impoundment (upper) is a gravity dam. Its height is 11 feet with a length of 240 feet. Normal storage is 74.9 acre feet. It drains an area of 131 square miles.
