Gibbons Creek Reservoir Gibons Creek Reservoir is 20 miles east of College Station, Texas. It is a popular recreational lake, but in its main role, it is a power plant cooling reservoir. Largemouth bass and catfish fishing is considered excellent there. It also offers a diverse habitat for birdwatching, ranging from duck ponds and the lake to marshes, prairies and woodlands.
