Gonzales, east Texas

Gonzales Dam is on the Guadalupe River in Gonzales County, Texas and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1925. Its normal surface area is 300 acres. It is owned by the City of Gonzales.

 

Gonzales is a gravity dam, buttress supported, concrete. The core is homogeneous, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 15 feet with a length of 258 feet. Normal storage is 1400 acre feet. It drains an area of 3450 square miles.
