S.u.mGreat Falls Dam on the Passaic River in Passaic County, New Jersey and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1840. Its normal surface area is 202 acres. It is owned by Paterson Municipal Utilities Authority.
Great Falls, also known as S.u.m. is masonry, a gravity dam. The foundation is rock. Its height is 12 feet with a length of 325 feet. Maximum discharge is 23500 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 1510 acre feet. Normal storage is 1415 acre feet. It drains an area of 785 square miles.
