Green River Lake, central Kentucky
Green River Lake is on the Green River in Taylor County, Kentucky and is used for flood control, recreation and drinking water, among other things. Construction was completed in 1969. It has a normal surface area of 12.8 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Green River Lake Dam, also known as Green River Lake is of earthen construction, rock fill. Its length is 2350 feet. Maximum discharge is 74200 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 723200 acre feet. Normal storage is 244100 acre feet. It drains an area of 682 square miles.
