Hoot Lake, west Minnesota
Diversion Dam is the result of Hoot Lake on the Ottertail River in Ottertail County, Minnesota and is used for hydroelectric power, drinking water, fish and wildlife protection and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1913. It is owned by Otter Tail Power Company.
Hoot Lake, also known as Diversion Dam is a gravity dam, concrete. Its height is 10 feet with a length of 226 feet. Maximum discharge is 2250 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 99 acre feet. It drains an area of 1240 square miles.
