Idlewild Lake, southeast Louisiana

Idlewild Lake is on a tributary of Sandy Creek in E Feliciana County, Louisiana and is used for recreation and irrigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1956. It is owned by L.S.U. Idlewild Reservoirarch Center.

 

Idlewild Lake is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is assumed to be soil. Its length is 2600 feet. Maximum discharge is 1467 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 440 acre feet. Normal storage is 400 acre feet.
