Indian Lake, northcentral New York

Indian Lake Stone Dam is on the Indian River in Hamilton County, New York and is used for recreation and flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1898. It has a normal surface area of 6.8 square miles. It is owned by Hudson River-Black River Regulating District.

 

Indian Lake Stone Dam is masonry, of earthen construction. Its height is 47 feet with a length of 550 feet. Its capacity is 170235 acre feet. Normal storage is 170235 acre feet. It drains an area of 131 square miles.
