John Sevier Detention Dam is impounded by John Sevier Dam on the Holston River in Hawkins County, Tennessee and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1954. At normal levels it has a surface area of 10.7 square miles. It is owned by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
