Kentucky Lake Vacation and Resort Properties

Kentucky Lake is formed by Kentucky Dam on the Tennessee River in Marshall; Livingston County, Kentucky and is used for improved navigation, flood control, hydroelectric power and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1944. At normal levels it has a surface area of 203 square miles. The lake property is owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority.

 

Kentucky Lake on the Tennessee River is the largest artificial lake east of the Mississippi. It provides power, and is a recreation destination for southern Kentucky and western Tennessee. The lake extends 180 miles, and is considered one of the best blue catfish lakes in the country. Cottages, cabins and condos are available, many right on the lake. There are 43 resorts, motels, bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, and condominiums. Fishing, camping, golf, and watersports are the main attractions, as well as the annual Kentucky Lake Bluegrass Festival.
