Kentucky River Lock and Dam 12, east Kentucky

Kentucky River Lock and Dam 12 Dam on the Kentucky River in Estill County, Kentucky is used for improved navigation, recreation and drinking water purposes. Construction was completed in 1910. Its normal surface area is 594 acres. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

 

Its length is 292 feet. Maximum discharge is 3800 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 13250 acre feet. Normal storage is 6600 acre feet. It drains an area of 2916 square miles.
