Kentucky River Lock and Dam 7, east Kentucky

Kentucky River Lock and Dam 7 on the Kentucky River in Jessamine County, Kentucky is used for improved navigation, hydroelectric power and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1897. Its normal surface area is 625 acres. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

 

Its length is 402 feet. Maximum discharge is 6500 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 16390 acre feet. Normal storage is 11300 acre feet. It drains an area of 5036 square miles.
