Kentucky River Lock and Dam 9, east Kentucky

Kentucky River Lock and Dam 9 on the Kentucky River in Jessamine County, Kentucky is used for improved navigation and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1907. Its normal surface area is 1.2 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

 

Its length is 294 feet. Maximum discharge is 5200 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 15030 acre feet. Normal storage is 11600 acre feet. It drains an area of 4101 square miles.
