Lake\0, southwest Georgia

Lake Worth (reservoir) is the result of Flint River Dam on the Flint River in Dougherty County, Georgia and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1921. At normal levels it has a surface area of 2.2 square miles. It is owned by Georgia Power Company.

 

Flint River, also known as Lake Worth (res) is a gravity dam, buttress supported, of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Its height is 60 feet with a length of 3497 feet. Maximum discharge is 52000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 37000 acre feet. Normal storage is 8000 acre feet. It drains an area of 5310 square miles.
