Lake Brennand, west Colorado
Lake Irwin is impounded by Lake Brennand Dam on a tributary of Anthracite Creek in Gunnison County, Colorado and is used for drinking water, recreation and fish and wildlife protection purposes. Construction was completed in 1963. Its normal surface area is 65 acres. It is owned by Colo. Division Of Wildlife.
Lake Brennand, also known as Lake Irwin is of earthen construction. The core is concrete. The foundation is assumed to be rock, soil. Its height is 24 feet with a length of 350 feet. Maximum discharge is 1160 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 896 acre feet. Normal storage is 506 acre feet. It drains an area of 3.7 square miles.
