It has a normal surface area of 2.2 square miles. It is owned by Dakota And Goodhue Counties. Lake Byllesby is buttress supported. Its height is 60 feet with a length of 2870 feet. Maximum discharge is 94500 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 20000 acre feet. Normal storage is 8000 acre feet. It drains an area of 1160 square miles.
