Lake Diversion, northcentral Texas
Lake Diversion Dam is on the Wichita River in Archer County, Texas and is used for irrigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1924. It has a normal surface area of 4.9 square miles. It is owned by the City Of Wichita Falls.
Lake Diversion Dam is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is assumed to be soil. Though originally completed in 1924, the structure was modified in 1934. Its height is 51 feet with a length of 4182 feet. Maximum discharge is 377626 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 144162 acre feet. Normal storage is 33420 acre feet. It drains an area of 3.47 square miles.
