Lake Gonzales, east Texas

H-4 Dam is formed by Lake Gonzales Dam on the Guadalupe River in Gonzales County, Texas and is used for hydroelectric power and recreation purposes. It has been been there since 1931. It is owned by Guadalupe Blanco River Authority.

 

Lake Gonzales Dam, also known as H-4 Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is assumed to be rock, soil. Its height is 42 feet with a length of 2170 feet. Its capacity is 23520 acre feet. Normal storage is 7500 acre feet.
