It has been been there since 1931. It is owned by Guadalupe Blanco River Authority. Lake Gonzales Dam, also known as H-4 Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is assumed to be rock, soil. Its height is 42 feet with a length of 2170 feet. Its capacity is 23520 acre feet. Normal storage is 7500 acre feet.
