Lake Madison, east Texas

Lake Madison is created by Town Branch Watershed Services Site 1 Dam on the Town Branch River in Madison County, Texas and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1969. At normal levels it has a surface area of 75 acres. It is owned by Bedias Creek Swcd.

 

Town Branch Ws Scs Site 1 Dam, also known as Lake Madison is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Its height is 36 feet with a length of 2800 feet. Maximum discharge is 2987 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 1800 acre feet. Normal storage is 425 acre feet. It drains an area of 1.1 square miles.
