Lake Rousseau, northeast Florida

Lake Rousseau is impounded by Inglis Spillway and Dam on the Withlacoochee River in Citrus County, Florida and is used for improved navigation and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1973. At normal levels it has a surface area of 6.3 square miles. It is owned by Fl-Dep.

 

Inglis Spillway & Dam, also known as Lake Rousseau is of earthen construction. Its length is 2640 feet. Maximum discharge is 18000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 33600 acre feet. Normal storage is 33600 acre feet. It drains an area of 2020 square miles.
