Lake Tahoe Vacation and Resort Properties

Lake Tahoe on the Truckee River is in Placer County, California and is used for irrigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1913. At normal levels it has a surface area of 188 square miles. The lake property is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation.

 

Lake Tahoe is on the California and Nevada border near Carson City, Nevada. Most of the shoreline is in California. South Lake Tahoe is home to a number of ski resorts, such as Heavenly Mountain Resort. The Nevada side of South Lake Tahoe is home to casinos, such as Harrahs, Harveys, and Ceasars, with lodging available on both sides of the stateline. Cal-Neva has casinos and resort areas on the north part of Lake Tahoe.
