Lake Tomahawk, northwest North Carolina

Lake Tomahawk Dam is on the Tomahawk Branch River in Buncombe County, North Carolina and is used for recreation purposes. It has been been there since 1935. It has a normal surface area of 9.6 acres. It is owned by Town Of Black Mountain.

 

Lake Tomahawk Dam is of earthen construction. Its length is 270 feet. Its capacity is 85 acre feet. Normal storage is 45 acre feet.
