Lake Travis is a reservoir on the Colorado River in central Texas, formed in 1942 by the construction of Mansfield Dam, west of Austin, Texas. It is one of seven reservoirs known as the Highland lakes. It extends 65 mile upstream to Starcke Dam. Lake Travis is used for flood control, water supply, electrical power generation and recreation.
