Lake Worth (res), southwest GeorgiaLake Worth (reservoir) is impounded by Muckafoonee Creek Dam on Muckafoonee Creek and Flint River in Dougherty County, Georgia and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1906. Its normal surface area is 2.2 square miles. It is owned by Georgia Power Company. Muckafoonee Creek Dam, also known as Lake Worth (res) is a gravity dam, buttress supported, of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 42 feet with a length of 1187 feet. Maximum discharge is 58000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 37000 acre feet. Normal storage is 8000 acre feet.
