Lock C-12, northeast New York

Lock C-12 Dam is on the Champlain Canal River in Washington County, New York and is used for hydroelectric power and improved navigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1911. Its normal surface area is 71 acres. It is owned by New York State Department Of Transportation.

 

Its height is 21 feet with a length of 170 feet. Maximum discharge is 17800 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 2880 acre feet. Normal storage is 700 acre feet. It drains an area of 429 square miles.
