Logan Martin Lake is a reservoir on the Coosa River, about 30 miles east of Birmingham, Alabama. It extends 48 from Logan Martin Dam to Neel Henry Dam and has a total lakefront of over 270 miles. Boating, skiing, and Alabama's best fishing is at Logan Martin Lake. Species include largemouth and spotted bass, as well as striped bass, white bass, hyprid bass, crappie, and catfish.

Watercress Darter National Wildlife Refuge (45 miles)

Watercress Darter NWR, near Bessemer, Jefferson County, Alabama, was established by the Service in 1980 to provide protection for the endangered watercress darter.
