Lynchburg Reservoir, east Texas

Lynchburg Reservoir is using off-channel water from the San Jacinto River in Harris County, Texas. Construction was completed in 1976. At normal levels it has a surface area of 200 acres. It is owned by the City Of Houston.

 

Lynchburg Reservoir Dam is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is soil. Its height is 35 feet with a length of 15315 feet. Its capacity is 5188 acre feet. Normal storage is 4700 acre feet. It drains an area of 0.32 square miles.
