Mathis and Terrora, northcentral GeorgiaMathis and Terrora Dam is on the Tallulah River in Rabun County, Georgia and is used for hydroelectric power, recreation and fish and wildlife protection purposes. Construction was completed in 1925. At normal levels it has a surface area of 1.3 square miles. It is owned by Georgia Power Company. Mathis & Terrora is buttress supported. The core is homogeneous, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 113 feet with a length of 597 feet. Maximum discharge is 38000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 31000 acre feet. Normal storage is 27250 acre feet. It drains an area of 151 square miles.
